Home to the Great Blue Turaco, black-and-white casqued hornbills, herons, and many other endemic bird species, the forest fragment is easily accessible, and appropriate for adventurers of all capabilities! Butterflies
Come step inside our immersive butterfly habitat! Sustainably collected and nurtured with care, our butterfly exhibit showcases the incredible butterfly diversity in the region. We nurture these butterflies from egg until adulthood- witness the life cycle stages on display at our butterfly observatory. ~COMING SOON~ handmade goods and WorkshopLearn from skilled craftswomen how to weave traditional Ugandan baskets using techniques passed down through generations. Primates
We boast 4 species of primates in the forest fragment: red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, Ugandan red colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys all live within this fragment. Get up close and see the incredible interactions within groups and between species! Eco-agriculture
Native long horned cattle roam and graze in a designated area within our property. We invite you to participate in daily cow milking and learn about our sustainable agriculture and herding practices. On our mixed agriculture plot, we cultivate coffee, maize, cassava, and other domesticated fruit trees. We also plant native fruiting fig trees on which the local wildlife feed to encourage seed distributing animals to return to the land they once inhabited. community involvement
We want to create a welcoming space for the community to come together and learn about human-wildlife coexistence. We plan on hosting monthly activities for children, and we plan to work in collaboration with healthcare professionals in the area to bring regularly scheduled mobile clinics offering affordable medical services for the local community. |
